Focusing is a gentle technique that assists you to more fully connect with what is going on in your body. It is a compassionate, loving and non-judgmental way of accessing the wisdom that is always present in your body.
The butterflies you are feeling in your stomach, the tightness you have in your chest, the heaviness in your legs, the aches and pains you have in your back, all may be telling you something.
When you speak about a fearful situation, you may instantly feel sick or nervous. It is these feelings that the process of focussing uses, by gently encouraging you to go fully into them, to help you find your own inner wisdom. Focusing is a process of allowing yourself to go deeply into the felt sensation, get to know it, what colour it is, what size it is, how long it has been there for, and what is its message for you. This is all done gently and slowly.
Maybe the initial feeling that you are used to is a way of simply getting your attention and maybe under that feeling is something that is closer to what your message is. Focusing is a process of really listening to what is within us and learning from it, rather than trying to get rid of it.
Focussing allows you to understand and experience more fully, your internal landscape of feelings and wisdom that is present within you.
